The submission of an entry form
and payment of the entry fee denotes acceptance
that the 4NCL’s decision is final in all
matters.
The 4NCL reserves the right to
refuse any entry without explanation.
No player may win more than one
prize. All place prize money will be shared
equally between tied players.
The best
performance prize will be awarded to the player
with the best performance relative to rating
(W-We) unless otherwise stated. Unrated players
will have their ECF grading converted to Elo for
calculation of rating prizes.
Ungraded and unrated players may
not win a grading prize.
Prizes will be transferred
by direct bank transfer in the week
following the end of the event.
The 4NCL will ensure its
advertised prize fund is realistic based on an
expected number of entries. Should the number of
entries fall significantly below this
expectation, it may be necessary to reduce the
prize fund. Where possible, any such decision
will be notified to entrants beforehand.
English players playing in a FIDE
rated section or event must either be Gold or
Platinum members of the ECF or pay a £10 pay to
play surcharge.
If
FIDE rated players also have an ECF grade their
ECF grade must be lower than:
(a) ECF 180 (FIDE U2050
section);
(b) ECF 150 (FIDE U1825 section;
(c) ECF 120 (FIDE U1600 section)
as published in the
ECF's August 2018 grading list.
Pairings in all sections will be
according to FIDE Swiss pairing rules, using the
Swiss Manager computer program.
Re-pairing will take place 30
minutes after the start of a round. Players will
be defaulted 30 minutes after the scheduled
start of a round.
The submission of an entry form
and payment of the entry fee is acceptance of
these terms and conditions.
If entrants withdraw before the
congress they will be entitled to a refund of
their entry fee less a £5 administration charge.
If they have booked a hotel room,
refunds/transfers etc will be subject to the
arrangements set out on the
Accommodation page.
Rooms can be cancelled without charge up to five
full working days before the weekend (and will be reallocated
elsewhere). If cancellations take place after this deadline, Guaranteed Events will use their best endeavours to reallocate the room, but
if this cannot be done you will be liable for the room cost. In
practice, however, demand for rooms is such that the likelihood is
that they can be reallocated in almost all cases.
If entrants make their own
arrangements for accommodation and do not avail
themselves of the Guaranteed Events service,
cancellation arrangements are between them and
their provider. In that event, neither the 4NCL
nor Guaranteed Events can accept responsibility
for any financial loss arising should
cancellation be required for whatever reason.
Please
note: Food and drink may not be
consumed within the hotel buildings or the hotel
car park unless it
has been purchased from the hotel, or is being
consumed in the guest’s bedroom. This applies
both to players and any accompanying persons.
Players may be expelled from the
event in which they are playing if they are
found to be consuming food and drink that has
not been purchased from the hotel
Prizes may be changed subject to
numbers of entries.
All games will (resource
permitting) be published for FIDE rated
sections.
The 4NCL reserves the right to
transfer players between tournaments at any
time.
All pairings will be made using
FIDE Swiss pairing rules using Swiss Manager.
All games will be played using
digital clocks.
