General Information
Prize fund:
1st £120; 2nd £80; 3rd £40; women’s
prize £30; best performance prize £30.
No player may win more than one prize (apart
from the women’s prize, which is in addition to
any other prizes won). Players qualifying for
more than one prize will be awarded the prize of
highest monetary value. All place prize money
will be shared equally between tied players. The
performance prize will be awarded to the player
with the highest W-We. In the event of a tie the
lowest-rated player will be awarded the
performance prize.
Entry fee:
£15.
Discounts: GMs/WGMs,
IMs/WIMs, FMs/WFMs free.
Late Entries:
Entries may be accepted on the day subject to
availability and payment of a £5 surcharge.
Playing Schedule:
Nine rounds, round 1 at 8:30 pm, end of round 9
c. 11.00 pm,
Time Control:
All moves in 3 minutes plus 2 second increment
per move from move 1.
Ratings:
Players’ ratings from the April 2026 FIDE and
ECF lists will be used for determining
tournament pairings and best performance prizes.
Ratings will be allocated in the following
order: FIDE blitz, ECF blitz, FIDE standardplay,
ECF standardplay.
Players without an ECF standardplay rating will
have a rating assigned to them by the organiser
based on any other rating information they have.
Any rating so assigned will be at the
organiser’s discretion, and the organiser’s
decision is final.
The Open Blitz will be both FIDE- and ECF-rated.

Prizes may be changed subject to numbers of
entries.
If entrants withdraw
before the congress they will be entitled to a
refund of their entry fee less a £5
administration charge.
The 4NCL Anti-Cheating
Policy will apply in this event.
All pairings will be made using Swiss-Manager
FIDE Swiss pairing rules.
The submission of an entry form and payment of
the entry fee denotes acceptance that the 4NCL’s
decision is final in all matters.
The 4NCL reserves the right to refuse any entry
without explanation.
Accommodation
The following discounted rates have been
negotiated with Mercure
Daventry Court Hotel:
£99.00 per room (£49.50pp) for shared B&B
accommodation
£89.00 per room for sole occupancy B&B
accommodation
There is a £10.00 discount on bedroom rates for
the Monday night.
Dinner arrangements: The
full bar menu in addition to a snack bar will be
available on all days. In the evening the bar
menu as well as the standard restaurant menu
will be available in the restaurant
