National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations

I became a supporter of NACCPO (National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisation) through a friend and ex-colleague Rachael Olley. I’ve raised money for the charity by doing chess simuls and also give free publicity to them whenever possible.

The National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parents Organisations (NACCPO) is a national charity that acts as a voice for parents of children and young adults with cancer by working with medical, government and charity organisations.

We help to ease the isolation felt when a family is given the devastating news that their child has cancer. We help families, giving advice and support when they are at their lowest ebb. When your child is diagnosed with cancer your world falls apart – you feel very alone and helpless. No-one can understand what you are going through except someone who has been in that terrible position. That is why NACCPO is so important to families – we are there to give support, information and help to families whose children have cancer.

There are approximately 1500 children and teens diagnosed with some form of cancer each year in the UK - 1500 families devastated every year.

NACCPO helps to share knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by families through a network of member groups. We are a charity with low overheads so every penny received is put to good use and is vital to us. We receive no Government funding so are always looking for financial support.

Please contact Rachael Olley for more details.
