The Four Nations Chess League does not accept responsibility for the content of other websites, to which this site links.

This website includes information on participants in the Four Nations Chess League in respect of name, grade, title, nationality and sex (team registration lists), as well as telephone number(s), email address(es) and postal address(es) in certain circumstances (team captains/managers, management board members, arbiters etc). Participants wishing this information not to be included on the website should contact the webmaster to have it removed, but should be aware that in this event they will not be permitted to play in the league.
Nidum Liberals ruling

1) Nidum Liberals defaulted all matches on the weekend of 29-31 May (Divisions 3 & 4). In Division 3 the score will be 2 match points and 8 game points to the scheduled opposition. In Division 4 Sussex Mindsports will score a 6-0 default in round 7; in rounds 8 & 9 a bye will be created worth 2 match points and 6 game points.

2) In full consultation with the Arbiting team, the Board have decided that Nidum Liberals will not be permitted to play in rounds 10 and 11. In Division 3 the scheduled opposition will score 2 match points and 8 game points. In Division 4 the bye will be worth 2 match points and 6 game points.

3) All previous matches played against Nidum Liberals will stand. This follows the general tournament rule that once 50% of fixtures have been completed, the results will count.

4) Nidum Liberals will be barred from entering teams in the 2004-2005 season, either under that name or another whose composition is substantially the same. Individual players are of course welcome to sign up for other teams.

5) Nidum Liberals 1 will count as one of the teams relegated from Division 3 this season. This means that the team finishing highest of the teams in the three relegation places will now not be relegated. The promotion and relegation rules in this context are set out in more detail in the "Other" section of the entry guidelines for the 2004/2005 season on the 4NCL website.

6) The teams awarded a bye in rounds 10 & 11 of Division 3 and in round 10 of Division 4 will have no need to be present on those days. A team who have no realistic chance of promotion from Division 4 have "volunteered" to take the Round 11 bye. This will enable us to inform all teams in advance of the June 19/20 weekend whether they will be playing one or two matches and thus minimize expenses.
