The 4NCL is expanding!

The 4NCL is delighted to announce that a fourth Division will be added to the league for the 2002/03 season. We hope that this expansion will enable more players of all ages and standards to enjoy participating in the UK's premier chess team competition.

Division 4 will be fought out by teams of 6 players, over 11 rounds. Wherever possible, the new Division will be played alongside the other divisions.

Unlike the top 3 divisions, there will be no stipulation for Division 4 teams to field a female player.

The dates for Division 4 are as follows:

Weekend 1
9th/10th November 2002
West Bromwich Moat House

Weekend 2
18th/19th January 2003
Telford Moat House

Weekend 3
8th/9th March 2003
Telford Moat House

Weekend 4
12th/13th April 2003
Telford Moat House

Weekend 5
24th/25th/26th May 2003
West Bromwich Moat House

The leading teams in Division 4 will be eligible for promotion to Division 3 for the 2003/04 season. Prize money will be announced shortly.

The cost of entering a team is £75 for new entrants (or £100 for 2nd, 3rd or 4th teams of existing 4NCL members). The deadline for receipt of entry fees and team lists is 31st August 2002.

Entries should be sent to :- Mike Truran (Finance Director) at The Old Farmhouse, 7 Church Street, Ducklington, WITNEY, Oxfordshire, OX29 7UA.
