The winner will be awarded the
title of British Rapidplay Champion 2027.
The highest-placed female player
will be awarded the title of British Women’s
Rapidplay Champion 2027.
No player may win more than one
prize. All place prize money will be shared
equally between players tied on the same number
of points apart from the first place prize (see
‘British Rapidplay Championship Tie-Breaks’
document).

performance prizes can be found in the

£40.00 | Entries may be accepted
on the day subject to availability and payment
of a £10 surcharge.
Eligibility
Requirements
Only players who fulfil at least one of the
following criteria shall have the right of entry
to the British Rapidplay Championship:
British citizenship;
British Overseas Territories citizenship;
Citizenship of Ireland;
Not less than one year’s continuous ordinary
residence in the United Kingdom of Great
Britain and Northern Ireland ending on 30th
June in the calendar year of the British
Rapidplay Championship in question;
Not less than one year’s continuous ordinary
residence in Ireland ending on 30th June in
the calendar year of the British Rapidplay
Championship in question;
Not less than one year’s continuous ordinary
residence in the Channel Islands ending on
30th June in the calendar year of the
British Rapidplay Championship in question;
Not less than one year’s continuous ordinary
residence in the Isle of Man ending on 30th
June in the calendar year of the British
Rapidplay Championship in question.
Players must also be members of a national
federation that is a signatory to the British
Isles Coordinating Committee agreement (‘BICC
federation’). **
All players registered with FIDE as ENG are
required to be ECF members at Gold level or
above. Additionally, all non-ENG players who
satisfy the residency requirements of sections
a., b. or d. of the ‘Eligibility Requirements’
section above, and who are not a member of a
non-ECF BICC federation **, are required to be
ECF members at Gold level or above.
All entrants must have a FIDE Identification
Number at the time of submitting their entry,
unless they wish their FIDE nationality to be
England. English players without a FIDE
Identification Number will have one created with
registration to ENG at the time the rating files
are submitted by FIDE. Please note: At the time of writing,
changing FIDE registered nationality at a later
stage will cost 50 Euros notification fee
payable by the player to the ECF/FIDE.
Additional transfer and compensation fee charges
may also apply as set out in the FIDE handbook
for titled and higher rated players. Players
with a FIDE registration of RUS or BLR will not
be eligible to enter events as per current FIDE
and ECF policy. They may however use FIDE’s fast
track procedure to change their FIDE affiliation
to FID as a basis for entering and providing
they are otherwise eligible.
All players who do not want to be registered
with FIDE as ENG must be registered with another
federation BEFORE playing.

Players may take zero point byes
at any point.
Time
Control
All moves in 15 minutes plus 10 second
increment per move from move 1.
Players will have until their time expires to
arrive to play their game. There will be no
re-pairings.
Ratings

Bradford
The higher of the ECF and FIDE rapidplay
ratings from 1st March 2027 lists will be used.
For players with neither an ECF nor FIDE rapidplay rating from the March
2027 list, the
higher of the ECF and FIDE standardplay ratings
from the March 2027 lists will be used. Players
with ratings from a BICC federation other than
the ECF should indicate on the online entry form
if they wish those ratings to be used in
preference to ECF ratings. The organiser may
disregard such requests at the organiser’s
absolute discretion for the purposes of
calculating best performance prize winners.
For players with no BICC federation rating
the organiser will assign an estimated rating
for the purpose of pairing, prize allocation and
the calculation of other players' TPR in the
event of a play-off for the Championship title.
The British Rapidplay Championship will be both
FIDE and ECF rated.
Prizes may be changed subject to numbers of
entries.
All pairings will be made using Swiss-Manager
FIDE Swiss pairing rules.
The submission of an entry form and payment
of the entry fee denotes acceptance that all
decisions made by the Chief Arbiter during the
tournament are final.
The 4NCL reserves the right to refuse any
entry without explanation.

There will be a competitively priced
two-course buffet on the Saturday evening. All
players are welcome to attend, whether or not
they have booked accommodation at the hotel.
