The Four Nations League is a team tournament over four divisions, with over 850 players taking part and over £10,000 in cash prizes on offer. It is the most prestigious team chess event held in the United Kingdom.

Where is the 4NCL held?

There are four venues for the 2007/08 season - details here.

When is the 4NCL held?

It is held over various weekends from September to May; dates for the 2007/08 season here.

What do I do if I have an issue that I want to raise with the Management Board?

No weekend is free from problems! You may have an issue to bring to the attention of the board or ideas that you think would enhance the status of the League. If so, you should contact any of the directors or team representatives listed above. You can ask your team Captain or nominated representative to raise the point at the Captains meeting, which is normally held at 9.30am on the last day of each weekend.

What are the rules of the 4NCL?

You can read a copy of the latest league rules here.

Am I good enough to I play for a team in the 4NCL?

Yes! You need to contact a Team Captain if you’d like to play in an existing team. Teams are organised on an ad hoc basis - it doesn’t matter what club you belong to or where you come from. However, you must be properly registered for a team to represent them.

Can I enter a team in the 4NCL and how much does it cost?

Yes! We invite entries to the league once a year - the closing date is normally the end of July.

If you are interested in entering a team, you may find this this useful - it contains information on participation in 2007/08. Alternatively contact Mike Truran.
